Independent recognition matters. Especially when it confirms what organizations experience in daily practice. Fellow LMS+ has been awarded a “Sehr gut” (86/100) rating by the eLearning Journal — a strong validation of a platform that goes beyond traditional learning systems. Where classic Learning Management Systems often fall short in connecting learning to daily work, Fellow LMS+ takes a different approach. As an LMS+ platform, it combines learning, communication, and collaboration in one environment. Not as separate tools, but as one connected experience.

In the following test report, the eLearning Journal shows how this approach performs in practice — from usability and course creation to AI-powered features.

The original test report

Corporate training is no longer limited to individual courses or formal learning programs. Information changes quickly, knowledge is created through interaction, and employees need to be continuously supported within their daily work. Traditional Learning Management Systems often reach their limits in this context.

Fellow LMS+ takes a different approach by combining learning, information, and communities within a single platform. As part of this test, we examined how well this interaction works in practice and what role usability, course creation, and AI-powered features play.

A learning platform for everyday work

Fellow LMS+ is designed as a learning platform that goes beyond the traditional management of courses. The focus is not only on formal training, but on how learning, information, and collaboration can be meaningfully connected in daily work. As a result, Fellow LMS+ positions itself less as a classic Learning Management System and more as an integrated platform for knowledge work and collaboration.

A key element is the homepage, which serves as the central starting point for the learner. It provides a structured overview of all relevant information, allowing users to immediately see whether they have new messages from colleagues or trainers, which courses still need to be completed, or whether there have been updates in any of the communities they are part of. The goal is to keep learners continuously informed in a simple and accessible way, supporting employees directly in their daily work.

To meet this goal, Fellow LMS+ places strong emphasis on usability and accessibility. The platform complies with WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards and follows a mobile-first approach, which is especially beneficial for employees without a fixed desk or computer. For users without a company email address, there is also the option to create an anonymous account. Particularly impressive is the automatic translation into 28 languages. Not only the interface, but also all content on a page can be translated if needed — including chat messages and comments.

Learning communities – learning through collaboration

A central element of Fellow LMS+ is its communities, which are designed to support interaction and collaborative learning within the platform. While communication is often treated as a secondary feature in many learning systems, communities play a much more active role in Fellow LMS+. They serve as spaces for discussions, questions, feedback, and informal knowledge sharing among employees.

Communities can be set up flexibly, for example based on teams, locations, roles, or specific topics. This allows learning and knowledge environments to reflect the actual structure of the organization, rather than being limited to formal training programs.

Course content, daily work insights, or additional materials can be discussed and reflected upon within these groups. In addition, tasks and challenges can be completed within a community, creating an extra layer of motivation for collaboration and engagement.

These communities are closely integrated with other platform features. Activities within a community appear directly on the personal homepage, so users do not need to actively search for updates or discussions. This ensures that communication becomes part of everyday work, rather than an additional channel alongside existing tasks.

Course creation made easy

Fellow LMS+ combines courses, information, and communities within a single platform, supporting both learning and collaboration in daily work.

Another core functionality of the platform is course creation. It is explicitly designed for users without instructional design or technical expertise. The goal is to quickly transform existing knowledge into structured learning content and update it continuously when needed. The platform offers several ways to create courses: importing existing materials, manually creating new courses, or using the AI-powered course generator.

The simplest option is importing existing content such as documents, presentations, or videos. These can be converted into courses or microlearning content in just a few clicks and then further refined. For editing or creating new learning content, the platform provides a comprehensive toolkit. In addition to standard text, image, and video blocks, users can integrate presentations or PDFs, add surveys, and include various types of knowledge checks — from single-choice and multiple-choice questions to open text responses, matching exercises, ratings, and rankings. Multimedia content such as audio formats or embedded external content can also be included.

A particularly notable feature is the integrated AI Course Generator. It allows text-based materials to be automatically transformed into structured courses. Based on source materials (such as PDFs, Word documents, or PowerPoint files), the AI suggests a course structure, adds relevant visual elements, and can generate comprehension questions if desired. This significantly reduces the effort required for initial course creation, especially for standardized or recurring topics.

Conclusion

Fellow LMS+ takes an approach that deliberately goes beyond the traditional role of a Learning Management System. Instead of focusing solely on managing and delivering courses, the platform combines learning, information, and collaboration within a single environment.

One of its key strengths is the strong integration of communities, which treat learning as a social process and actively support informal knowledge sharing.

The platform also proves flexible in course creation. Both the import of existing content and the manual creation of new learning materials can be done without significant barriers.

The integrated AI course generator can further reduce the effort required to create initial learning content, although it does not replace the responsibility of learning professionals for content quality.

For these reasons, the editorial team of the eLearning Journal awards Fellow LMS+ a score of 86 points and the rating “Sehr gut”.

Note: The eLearning Test product review was originally written in German, hence the rating “Sehr gut,” meaning “very good” — a strong recognition of the platform’s performance.
